From LiveJournal to Real Life

Remember when we used to spend hours customizing our LiveJournal (or Xanga, if you had it) and MySpace layouts? That feeling of making something digital feel personal is exactly why I created Charlie andhearts.

The name is a nod to two things: the HTML code we used to make the heart symbol (&hearts ;) — a little piece of code we used to sprinkle everywhere, I might add — and my constant companion, Charlie.

Meet the Boss (est. 2010)

Charlie the Cat

Charlie has been my sidekick since I adopted him at three months old. Now, he’s a 16-year-old tuxedo cat with the soul of an old man and the dress code of a diplomat.

As he enters his "super-senior" era, I wanted to memorialize him by carving out his own little corner of the internet forever. He approves every design (mostly by snuggling with me while I draw).

This shop is a collection of everything I love — from the pixelated memories of the early "interwebs" to the golden hour sunsets of my hometown in Los Angeles. It’s a little bit chaotic, a little bit nostalgic, and 100% made with... ♥
